SERVICE DESCRIPTION

postgr.esq provides read-only access to publicly available PostgreSQL mailing list archives and open-source code repositories. All content served was already public before being indexed here.

ACCEPTABLE USE

You may use this service for:

- Reading, searching, and browsing archived messages
- Programmatic access via supported protocols (HTTPS, NNTP, IMAP, POP3, Git, MCP)
- Personal and commercial software development
- Academic research and citation
- AI-assisted development using MCP tools or cloned skills

RESTRICTIONS

You may not:

- Use the service for spam, harassment, or doxxing
- Attempt to modify, delete, or inject content
- Misrepresent this service as affiliated with the PostgreSQL Global Development Group
- Exceed reasonable request rates (use Crawl-delay: 1 as guidance)

FAIR USE

Standard fair use applies. Quoting, linking, and referencing archived messages for commentary, research, bug reports, and development is encouraged. Attribution to original authors is expected.

• Email archives are intentionally available via Git clone — no need to scrape. Use git clone https://postgr.esq/m/<inbox>.git for bulk access.
• This service is designed for AI access via MCP. Point your agent at https://postgr.esq/mcp/ for structured queries — MCP clients are not subject to the same rate limits as web requests.
• Commercial use is permitted without prior approval, including in proprietary tools, products, and services.
• Mirroring or redistributing archived content is permitted provided original authorship is preserved.
