.SP DAYFILE FILES 6/14/90
.XA 1 Dayfile
.uh NAME
.sp
.in .5i
\&.../files/dayfile1 \*- POSTGRES login message
.uh DESCRIPTION
.sp
.in .5i
The contents of the dayfile reflect
user information of general system interest, and is
more or less analogous to
\fB/etc/motd\fR
in UNIX.
The file has no set format;
its contents are simply returned as a
string when the
function dayfile() is called.
Moreover the dayfile is not mandatory, and
its absence will not generate errors of any sort;
the same is true when the
dayfile is present but not readable.
