The
<raised> RIGHT mouse button
<normal> will center and zoom in on a point.
   the
<raised> LEFT mouse button
<normal> will center the map on a point.

Use the sliders to reset zoom to "1" if you want to move to
the global view.

The map is in a cylindrical projection (not like Mercator at all)
Use the Aspect Correction slider to change the shapes of far northern
or southern areas to be more like Mercator.

The data is accurate only to 1 minute (one nautical mile), so you
can't zoom in for very great detail.

<SUBTITLE> ICONS:

<normal>Selecting the
<raised> Display Icons
<normal> button will show any icons (defined in
 icondefs.tcl
<normal>) at the current zoom level and visible
location. Because icons may be defined for varying
ranges of "zoom" they may appear or disappear as
you zoom in or out. Icons are tied to specific
latitudes and longitudes.

To access the information
associated with an icon, move the mouse over the
icon (the center will change color when activated)
and click and hold down the
<raised> LEFT mouse button
<normal>. This will pop up a menu under the mouse,
drag until the item you want is
<lightblue> highlighted
<normal> and then release the button. This will cause
the
<lightblue> highlighted
<normal> item to be displayed with an appropriate
viewer.

<SUBTITLE> BUGS:

<normal>Zooming is pretty much logarithmic (big changes from 1 to 2, very
little from 80-120) may need to make this more intuitive.

Map will usually refresh when covered and re-exposed, but not
always, so hit the "Display Map" button to redisplay it.
