Troubleshooting

installing Postgres95 on Linux (see Jalon Zimmerman's info) or Linux ELF (get Brian Gallew's patch)
pg_dump is available for converting postgres v4r2 databases to postgres95 databases. See the README in the distribution for its limitations. It is available for ftp in pub/postgres95/pg_dump.tgz
