Purpose:        An object-oriented DBMS. Postgres is the work of Prof. Michael Stonebraker
                and is the successor to the Ingres relational database system. It provides
                better support for complex objects and provides user extendibility for data
                types, operators and access methods. This distribution includes documentation,
                papers and reference pages, and three demo databases.
