the UCB CS division is moving from evans hall (a blocky, stuffy
building shared with math, stat and econ) to soda hall (a shiny
green ziggurat built over the former site of a nuclear reactor --
i wouldn't be surprised if the tiles were made out of trinitite).
the move is scheduled for the week of the 18th, but machines will
be bouncing up and down for the week before and after the move.

also, when the dust settles, all of our machines will have new IP
addresses.

mail service should be up for most of that time, but there will
necessarily be some downtime and reboots. i'm not sure about ftp
service, so don't put anything off if it can't wait until the end
of the month. (our sysadmin is telling us, "don't expect to get
any work done for the rest of july.")

things are a bit hectic here as we have been packing up and
backing up and whatnot. apologies for delays and inconveniences.
