Announcing a pre-release of POSTGRES Version 4 Release 2.
I put a tar file and a copy of the installation and release notes
in the directory pub/postgres/postgres-v4r2.alpha available
via anonymous ftp from site s2k-ftp.cs.berkeley.edu. I'm
hoping that all of you who have prior experience with installing
and running POSTGRES can test it out for us. Other potential users
are cautioned to hold off until it's been better checked for
problems. This is the only palce I'm announcing it for now. If
it looks ok to people on the list (please send me feedback as private
email only rather than inundating this mailing list) then we'll rename
the directory and call it the final 4.2 release.

Good luck --

Send feedback to marc@vangogh.cs.berkeley.edu
