Subject: Using postgres in a commercial product? (repost)
To: postgres@postgres.berkeley.edu
Sender: pg_adm@postgres.berkeley.edu

Snaffed from COPYRIGHT in the 3.0 release:

................................... Permission to incorporate this
software into commercial products can be obtained from the Campus
Software Office, 295 Evans Hall,................................

Does this apply if the product is a client using postgres and
postgres is supplied free of charge with no restrictions other
than those specified in COPYRIGHT, and (optionally) supplied
with source?

What exactly is the criterion for getting permission to
incorporate this into a commercial product?

Thanks in advance
